1. Poems in English

On this page are a list of poems which I wrote in English, however, some of their titles are in other languages, and you will notice names and other words in other languages appearing in these poems. Some of these poems were once published by me on Facebook but have since been removed, none of them have ever been in any kind of publication nor archived in any way, not in any book, ebook, website or article. This page was created on the 17th of February 2025.

Finnish thunder

The sound of thunder in Finnish skies
Clouds blowing in the sunrise
Roaring spinning in the aether
The lime tree dancing,
In the windy ocean
The ethereal shapes
The heavens turning
The birches are blowing
Ukko’s eyes are burning

Paths

I miss you Scotland

And the paths of my life

I miss my cats

And the gentle youthful nights

I long for how the clouds turn away

Waves in an ocean that can seem far away

In this world where sometimes nothing seems deep

We walk on the earth, traumatised, she seems to gently sleep

As mankind progresses forward, to an end that becomes its end

For a purpose that by its own nature we cannot contend

It seems to leave behind the things at the side of the road

Those reminders, moments of love that nourish our souls

The world seems to go one way, but I want to go back

To find the real meaning, the love that feels to lack

The path of humanity seems straight, going towards the goal

But it is better to move gently, and to sway to and fro

In a world where everything must be efficient and direct

The more about it, I want to reject

And take a twisting path, like a snake over moors

Leading me slowly and eventually to the core

Kuudet - Pines

The smell of pines in morning mist

You remind me of times when the world was chaos and bliss

Millions of ages have passed in the mind of the pines

From the times of giant reptiles

Through mother earth as she has rocked and sighed

To the Gaels of the highlands the pine's name is ailm

The first, the oldest, the cleanser of the air

From whence four directions point hither and there

Your name is so old and yet still told

You stand high over lochs in Torridon and to the east

To the vast lands where colours and scents leak

To the mountains of the west across the great sea

Where the Hopi ancestors gazed from mountains free

How I appreciate and love you

Oldest of the trees

Your skeletal forms and your resin in the breeze

You take me home to times long past

For throughout the ages you are the first and the last

When I breathe your smell, time ceases to be

I know the notes of the skies, and I swim the cosmic sea

The stars over Y Berwyn

Starlight is the Welsh secret
Shining over distant hills
The unchanging hope
The Elven light
The Eldar Dancing
Gentle but bright
Be my life kind and good
May I walk beneath your grace
And hear the path of the Awen
Beating in my soul
May I find the roads of the Awen
Set by the Creator
Before the World was born
